Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a deeply curious, eager to learn, bright, energetic, and organized individual to take on this exciting opportunity! As the Technical Training Specialist, you would maintain and grow a unique blend of instructional programs, training materials, technical insight, and interpersonal skills. This is very hands-on in a technical/ mechanical position. An effective presenter and trainer, you need diagnostic capabilities as well as skills in training adult learners, always keeping safety as the top priority. The Job

In this role, you would be responsible for developing and delivering training programs in a variety of formats to new and existing AAE employees, technicians as well as to our dealership and service provider technicians. Your main responsibility will be translating these sometimes difficult, technical concepts and procedures into easy-to-understand content for learning. The training programs developed will continually improve the scale, depth, and quality of the AAE technical knowledge base. 

Job Responsibilities

This will include but is not limited to:

  • Develop, update and maintain training materials to include manuals, guides, participant guides, presentations, quick reference guides, and documents to be used in the training.
  • Deliver training in our workshops, at our dealers, and online. 
  • Research equipment service-related topic areas and integrate them into the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with product manufacturers and other subject matter experts to assess new and changing product capabilities to determine training programs for technicians and users
  • Develop high-quality, online training curricula and materials, including demos, videos, tests, and demonstration exercises.
  • Assess training effectiveness
  • Using sound instructional design skills, develop best practices for creating technical learning
  • Develop deep knowledge of existing teaching products and implement, deliver and continually evaluate training programs integration of new program and product policies and procedures
  • Revise training curriculum and methods as needed to improve effectiveness and improve training programs, curriculum, and content
  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, product marketing, and sales enablement) to ensure training materials are continually up-to-date and aligned with current business goals

Requirements 

  • 5+ years of experience as a teacher, trainer, or training developer
  • 3+ Experience reading and understanding electrical schematics
  • 3+ Experience reading and understanding hydraulic schematics
  • 5+ Experience and understanding of technical manuals
  • Knowledge of drawing flowcharts, diagrams, and other visual aids
  • Experience speaking in front of large and small groups both in-person and online 
  • Ability to travel nationally to dealers and service providers as needed (occasionally)
  • Ability to travel internationally to our Manufacturers when needed (rarely)
  • Strong computer skills, Google Suite is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Valid driver's license required


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with aerial lifts 
  • OSHA 10 card
  • Military maintenance training, a plus
  • Experience with sensor signaling protocols such as CANBUS
  • Advanced technical studies such as automotive, aircraft maintenance, or heavy equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and office tools
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or other case management tools
  • Experience working for a heavy machinery company and aerial work platforms
  • Strong coaching skills 
  • Determination to teach, inspire, and lead technical professionals is essential
  • Strong orientation to safety in the workplace 
  • Able to multi-task and work on more than one project at a time
  • Experience developing training content for adult learners 
  • Motivation to work in a highly collaborative environment

 

 

Education: 

  • Associates Degree or training certificates in related field (or equivalent work experience)
